I thought this story was awful. The author writes well and the story ended well but in between was a dreary set of circumstances: SPOILERS: an abused wife, a 16-year-old girl forced to marry, a good young man under suspicion and a gamester pretending to be good, etc. The villains were powerful and mean, and the female characters were misled or manipulated. Too often they felt that their only options were to run away. The duke of the title was wonderful and eventually managed a good outcome but I never like stories were life is a struggle until the happy ending at the very end. By then I just feel exhausted.Product details

This is a well written regency, but there are too many couples and not enough heat between the primary hero and heroine.
Another perfect Regency Romance! This one kept me guessing with no less than 3 sets of H and hs. But all ends as it should in a novel both teens and adults would enjoy. A nice sequel to The Jilting of Baron Pelham although I wish the author would settle Harry with someone.
